Patience is Key when selling online

Wholesale Items For Sale Here

Many sellers list their items for one week and if it doesnt sell, they do not try to relist it.  You should treat your online business the same as your off line business.  Products in stores do not all sell in one day!

That very reason is why many fail in the liquidation business. They try to move the products too fast. I have had items listed that get re listed 3 or 4 times. But they eventually get a sale. There is a buyer for anything and everything. You just have to be the one presenting that item.

For instance. I had a suitcase pallet a few months ago. I listed 4 units for 99Cents starting bid. They all closed and I barely made $80 on them. I paid i think $200 for the pallet.

It was the lowest priced pallet macys had in that category and I chose it as a test pallet for myself. Most of them were in mint condition but some had a problem with the handles. After tinkering with them I figured out how to fix all of those with bad handles. I then ran many of the suitcases with Higher prices. All buy it now. It took me 2 months but now most of them are sold. And Im sitting on about 700 Profit on that pallet. And I still have several suitcases I haven’t even listed yet. Just imagine if I bought 5 pallets and had a ton of them listed. I sat on the products longer and turned a pallet that might have barely broke even into a high profit pallet. Just by being patient.

Other people only sell what they personally think will sell high. And they curb the rest or even throw it away. This is something that just cant happen. Your basically putting profit in a corner to rot and taking a loss when you should list and sell it.

I have watched successful sellers even selling something remote as a onion peeler. Yeah its a small item but even if you sell it for $4.00 thats $4.00 more in your pocket. You have 30 items like that on a pallet selling for the same price and you have $120 in profit on that pallet that some toss in a corner and don’t sell.

So yes patience always pays off. If your in a hurry then you will loose potential profits you could have made. Just because your item did not sell that week does not mean it wont sell on another. It just means that buyer wasnt looking for your item at the time you started the listing.

I* have normally 3,000 items up but only sell 200-300 items a week on avg ..keep most in my ebay store and still turn good profit only selling 5-10% each week of what i have listed …you can have 2500 items in your store and it is only $75 a month for the listings .I have stuff sometimes sit for months before selling , it just depends on how much money you have to work with.*

eBay returns to its roots

In a dramatic about-face, eBay last week announced that their three-year plan involves returning to their original focus as a venue for selling used, off-season and end-of-life-cycle goods.  Implicit in this change of direction is the admission that their attempt to mimic Amazon has been a failure.

But the eBay team was upbeat, forecasting an overall revenue increase from $10 billion to $12 billion in 2011, $7 billion of which will be coming from its marketplace. With 25 million sellers currently serving 150 million unique visitors from around the world across 50,000 categories, eBay still believe they are a major player with a bright future.

According to Ina Steiner’s EBay Analyst Day Notes, eBay believe the secondary market has a number of advantages:

1. Secondary market goods have uncertain value, so they can be sold via a variety of different formats, which is good because it increases turnover on the site.

2. Buyers are focused on getting the best deal and don’t have such high expectations of professional service (as they do when they purchase new goods).

3. The secondary market is inefficient.

4. The secondary market grosses 500 billion dollars a year worldwide.

How to start your ebay business

If you are ready to start selling on Ebay you probably know or have already tried finding products to sell.
You can always go to yard sales and look for things that you can resell. This is an obvious way but can produce great results.

Flea markets are another way to find your products and they are all in one place which makes it easy. You may have noticed there are flea market vendors selling brand new products at a very low price. How can they do this? Its great that you have the option of buying these things so cheap but wouldn’t you like to get the products they have and be able to sell them yourself?

Chances are, there is a liquidation store in your area. They are popping up all over the place. These liquidation stores or Salvage stores carry products that are in good condition from places like Kmart, Walmart, Target, Sears, etc.

The retail stores can sell the products that have been sitting on the shelf too long to wholesalers. The wholesalers turn around and buy hundreds of pallets of items all for one price.

So how can you get a hold of these pallets of liquidation items?

You can buy one pallet to a truckload of pallets! Usually when you are picking out pallets they only let you see what is on the top of the box. They are huge boxes though and there are soo many goodies in them!

First try searching on Google for “liquidation pallets” or “Salvage Pallets”. You will see thousands of results.  This can be tricky because unfortunately there are websites claiming to be wholesale distributors but they are not.  Try searching with the name of your town. Most liquidation stores are listed in some kind of directory. You can even use a liquidation directory. Wholesale Directories like this are excellent because finding the product is sometimes the biggest hurdle. Click here to see a Powerseller source for products.

Auction websites where they actually auction off pallets that are for sell by the liquidation store owner. You only pay if you are the higheset bidder and the cost of shipping (which is not bad at all because they have freight prices!!) They usually use UPS and the last pallet I got was only $45 to ship :) You can click that link to take you to an awesome pallet auction website.

Another idea is just to buy items on sale in stores! These items are often marked down very low.

Check out your local TJ Maxx, Ross, etc. These
stores buy overstock. I have found great deals
on things like expensive coffee pots on the back
aisles of Target. Target Stores can be great source
for electronics markdowns, everyday items, office
supplies, etc. This is Target’s markdown schedule.
Every store doesn’t follow it exactly. Some are a
day off. For the most part, you can count on this
schedule:
Target markdown schedule:
MONDAY- kids clothes, electronics
TUESDAY- women’s clothes, domestics
WEDNESDAY- men’s clothes, toys, health and
beauty
THURSDAY- lingerie, shoes, housewares, sporting
goods
FRIDAY- cosmetics, hardware, auto, jewelry.

Another place I often buy wholesale is on ebay itself.

Click here to go to eBay and search
You will need to select the category you are interested in and look at the bottom of the list for “wholesale lots”.

Another way to become a powerseller is by selling atleast 100 items a month and you can actually do this with something that you get in the mail every day and that is coupons! They sell very well on ebay and it is easy to sell a ton of them!

Check out this site which has them listed and you can see just how much they are selling for:

You can also sell ebooks that are free for you to sell but Ebay has started a new policy with products you download.
Digitally delivered items must be listed in the Classified Ad Format in the Everything Else>Information Products category only.

Classified listings cost $10 a month but they stay listed all month! They are also listed with everything else so your items are very noticeable.

You can go to CLICK HERE for ebooks to sell that people can download and you make up to 75% commission!!!! You can start selling ebooks and the only out of pocket cost you have is $10!

WorldWide Brands is a Powerseller Secret. The best way to find your Supplier:

This is about dropshipping. Dropshipping is becoming VERY Popular on Ebay because Ebay is moving toward a “buy it now” type business. Ebay is encouraging sellers to use “buy it now”. Because of this, dropshipping is the way to go on these types of auctions. Finding a reputable dropshipper is not easy but Worldwide brands offers a Product Sourcing Database, OneSource, that includes thousands of pre-verified wholesale suppliers who are willing to Drop Ship those products directly to your customer from the warehouse, one at a time, at wholesale. OneSource also includes thousands of Wholesale Suppliers willing to sell to you in small Bulk Quantities, while still giving you larger Bulk Quantity prices. It’s an excellent way to do business without spending a ton of money.

A Wholesale distributor is a company that owns their own warehouse (no middlemen) and supplies you with products at prices that are significantly lower than Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). That’s what wholesale means.
